    Hey Guys.. Been trolling this forum for a while, and I must say, this forum is one of the major reasons why I'm glad i ended up getting an XJ.

    I bought an 82 XJ 650 for 300 bucks a few years ago, and have been working on it off and on since. (work on it for a weekend, then take 6 months off haha). With spring right around the corner, i decided 2015 would be the year i ride this thing. I've included a before and after pic. It's not done yet (some little cosmetic things and paint) but it gives you an idea of what I've done.

    Anyway here's my issue. There were no rear turn signals on the bike when i bought it, so i decided to throw some LEDS on for the rear turn signals. When I put them on, the lights would turn on but wouldn't blink, so last week i added a resistor to the right side LED. After i did that, the right side LEDs began blinking perfectly, but i decided to hold off on adding the resistor to the left side due to an issue with the left rear LED not being as bright.

    Well i come back today, and the left side still turns on (no blinking), but the right side doesn't work at all!?!
    I tried disconnecting the resistor... nothing
    Tried disconnecting the rear LED... nothing
    The right side seems to be totally dead....

    So my question is, did i do something to the right side when i put the resistor on? I couldn't find any blown fuses in the fuse box, so at this point, I'm totally lost!

    HELP!

    Did you use the original turn signal switch? The contacts in mine were so dirty they weren't connecting. Perhaps jump the leads to simulate a right turn on the switch?

    Just to bring this topic to a conclusion incase anyone is searching for a solution to the same problem, I managed to figure it out for myself.
    To get LED indicators (signallers) to function correctly the procedure is as follows;
    Fit the LED indicators in place of the standard ones without any sort of resistor, just wire them in exactly as the stock ones were.
    Replace the flasher unit with a CF13 JL-02 flasher unit.
    Run a separate ground wire from the negative spade terminal on the CF13 JL -02 flasher unit and fasten it to a convenient earthing point on the frame.
    The LED signallers will now function correctly.
