are the o-rings on the fuel supply tubes on mikuni carbs a specialty item or can i just go down to Lordco and pick some up? 53 bucks for a set of 8 o-rings as advertised on xj forever seems a bit steep to me.

That's for the OEM O-rings, which are rather pricey, which is why we also offer aftermarket versions that fit properly and are about 1/4th the price!

It would also be wise to get an upgraded fuel supply t-fitting from Chacal so you can avoid potential leaks there as well.

+1 to that. The original fuel T for these is a metal piece with a rubber/plastic coating and the 'rings' are just molded-in bumps. Those bumps have been compressed and worn for many years. While at the moment they may not be leaking, keep in mind that as you replace all the other seals and rings, there's going to be a lot less places for the fuel to leak to, the new o-rings, seals, and gaskets are able to easily handle that since they are new, but now you have a weak link at the T. Where do YOU think it's gonna leak if you don't replace it now? Yup, right at the one thing you didn't replace.........and since it's between the carbs, you have to break the rack. Now, when you put it back together, you get to sync it again........ oh, by the way........when you break the rack and put it back together, be careful with the fuel rail o-rings.....hope you don't tear one now, cuz you'll have to wait til your replacement for THAT arrives............

In short, do the T while you have stuff apart.

Another nice thing is that the T that Len carries has two o-rings on both ends. Great sealing, and if they wear out in another 30 years, the rings are replaceable.
