A big Hello to all fellow Xj owner's around the world!
now before I introduce my self the first thing I would like to say is Thank You to all who posted how to's technical information about our bike's as I am going to and already have made use of it so thank you for taking the time!
My name is Dylan and my xj is a 83 Xj900 seca shorty Vin is 31E-000248. I rescued this girl from a friend who didn't want to restore her after he got his victory! She had a sad life just sitting in a yard as a jungle him and rotting. MY friend took her apart so when I got her she had no forks on and pretty much mostly stripped. I i tinkered and got her to start after 13 years of sitting. Then she sat some more and when I got my own place I decided she got to have front and center if front of the work bench for a good restoration. I have a long way to go but the first problem is the intake studs that broke off when I looked at them lol so I will be more and more and picking brains as all the info I have has come out of my Haynes manual. Here is a couple pictures of how she set's now.

Couldn't see a radiator on the bike, so I assumed. Harley isn't the most popular word around here, but I don't think it's a cuss word either! My parents know I like bikes, so every year they come back from Florida with a nice Harley gift. Just once, I'd LOVE it if they found me a Yamaha shirt! Gonna be a while before I can afford a Hawg! Oh well, free motorcycle swag is free motorcycle swag!

Harley leather ain't cheap. High fashion! A guy at work owns a sporty that he never ever ever rides, but he's got harley work boots, jackets shirts, pants... If he could get Harley glasses and watch, he'd wear it too! Did I mention he never rides?

    Sorry for the thread hi-Jack.

Oh my dear Canadians . . . You think your scenarios are pathetic?
I live in Milwaukee, the home of "Milwaukee Iron" - aka Harley Davidson. I know several locals as you both described. One only rides if it is 70F and mile high clear skies, the other has a V-Rod and hasn't ridden it in two years. Both guys have all the clothes, boots, hats, sunglasses, coffee mugs, etc. I can't figure out why they would buy such an expensive bike and then let it sit in the garage?

Damn... those V-Rod engines were designed by Porsche. I'd LOVE to try one out.

A few weeks ago when I was humming and hawing about restoration on this old girl, it was the fact that it is a rare 900 and low production number that really peaked my interest. Then I came across xj4ever and this forum and I was sold on restoring her! Right now I am doing a compression test before I pull the head. I am pulling head because I have the intake studs broken off, I tried to might weld a nut on but that didn't work so I will take it to work and tig weld a nut on and try

Tell you what.....I'll start an addendum to the xj900rk Registry and make it for Canadian models (heck, I may as well open it up to ANY 900rk models). LOL

So, anyone with a 900rk that has not contacted me to register your 900rk, let me know and I"ll put it on the 'Addendum'.

FlyingSkull.....since your's is the one I'm start with, you have to lowest number currently on it. :)
