After many modifications, I finally finished my cafe seat. The "cap" is actually from a tryumph "Thruxton". I had to re-shape the foam on the seat so that the cap would would fit. The original hardware was used from the strap that originally went on the seat. I had it recovered in San Diego (very inexpensive) and the guy did a fantastic job. I just took him a picture of Thruxton seat and he matched it for 50 bucks. Once everything fit, I painted the cap with the same paint scheme as the tank and fender. I also had to reposition the rear tail light but it turned out great.

    HOLY SH!T DUDE!!!!

    That's amazing.

Your bike is the nicest freakin seca I've seen.
Definately dig the easy conversion. I thought mine was easy with pulling the hinge pins, but that is simply magnificant.

When I painted my bike I had 2 options:
1.) Gloss black with the checker stripe; and/or
2.) Satin/Suede black with a triple stripe (like yours... obviously).

I am so glad you did yours the way you did. I have been dying thinking about how it would look.
    Super classy. Again, LOVE IT.

BTW, dig the rolled seat cover.
I want to re-cover my 2-up seat and I was looking for one with the same pattern... so if anyone knows where to pick one up ready made I'm all ears (eyes... it is a forum).

Thanks Ease. Seeing the work you did on your bike, that means a lot.

The seat did take some time to make but I really like the cafe look. I used the original seat pan so everything "opens" like it oritinally did. I also made it hinge from the two screws on the side so it opens up like a small trunk so I can store my gloves and stuff when I get off my bike.

That looks slick, I've always wanted a cafe seat with the cap. What kind of bars do you have.

I have drag bars on my bike. I am thinking about bending them down just a little bit more but Im not sure yet. Along with the drag bars, I have a set or risers on that push the bars up and forward so that they do not hit the tank.

I just shaved the original foam down with a hack saw blade then had it covered down in San Diego. I would have liked to use the original cover but I had to shave quite a bit of foam off so it did not fit very well. I did try but it was so inexpensive to have done in SD I just figured why not.

The cafe cover was off of ebay. It was intended for a tryumph "thruxton". They come in a bunch of different colors but I had to paint mine to match my tank. All rattle can.

Thanks again for the compliments guys.
    cheers

If I had the money, I would be getting a Thruxton myself. I tried to model my bike after the Thruxton. Even the racing stripe is similar to one of the options on the Thruxton. But, with limited $, I made my seca into the look I was going for.
