    Today i'll hopefully be balancing my carbs... we had nice weather yesterday but today it's going to be sitting at around 2 degrees celsius, 35.6 degrees fahrenheit for y'all ;)

    1) Will the weather be a problem once I warm the bike up?

    2)Let's see if I got the steps right here... I'll be using the 2 bottle sync tool.
    a) Warm the bike up
    b) Balance carbs 1&2 -> 3&4 -> 2&3
    c) check em again and adjust as necessary

    I've already bench synced them and set the fuel levels

    I'm wondering where the idle adjustment rod comes in to play?
    Should I be trying to keep the idle at 1050+-50 while I'm doing this?

    Yes, you want to keep the idle at the target speed. It'll move around as you adjust the sync and you use the adjuster to bring the RPMs back where they belong.

    Add a battery charger while you do this. You have a reasonable chance of discharging the battery with all the idling it'll be doing. Plus, you might be restarting the bike as you move the bottles around.

    Your sequence of tackling it looks right to me.

    The outside air temperature will not matter. Each cylinder will pull the vacuum that it will pull regardless.
