    Hi all,

I have an opportunity to pick up a parts bike (86 xj750 maxim), and I'm curious to know if the carbs, forks, swingarm, wheel, and engine are swap-able with an 81 xj750rh seca.

    Thanks for checking,
    TT

The motor mounts will need some modification to allow the Maxim engine fit into the Seca frame. One thing of note is that the Maxim engine uses different cams, so you may notice some performance difference. The rear wheel is swappable, but of a different size than the Seca. The swingarm is a direct swap.

    tank
    gauges
left side shifter cover and linkage
    side covers, grab bar
    forks
    mufflers
    muffler/footpeg mounts
    etc......

Thanks guys. I didn't realize the maxim engines used different cams, am I right to assume the seca cams are hotter?

I need to backtrack. I posted from memory (hardly ever a good idea). The cams for the Maxim and Seca are different for most of the XJ line, but not for the 750. Both the 750 Maxim and 750 Seca use the same cams. There is a full rundown in the engine section of the Xj4ever catalog.
