Just bought a frame and a few boxes with parts. Someone told me it is a complete XJ750 Seca......

I'll try to make a great café racer out of it. Please let me know if you have any suggestions, idea's or something that could help get some inspiration. Especially the tank is bothering me. It is great bulky tank and I love that but the XJ750 has that weird shape at the bottom of the tank. normally it goes neatly into the side cover. But I want to take the side covers of to create a open space. But than the tank looks weird. Please let me know what you think I could do about this problem?

can you take a side view of the bike as naked as possible just like the one you posted, but with the tank on?
    basic suggestions
1 - paint any part of the tank that sits below the frame line black, mebbe pinstripe this line to accentuate it. (http://www.theoryfx.com/STUFF/cafe/shoot/outside2.jpg)
2 - try to find more instances of the shape that site below the frame line, fabricate/recreate, if you cant hide it, flaunt it. (http://thebikeshed.cc/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/TC-XJ650Seco-Lside-800.jpg) (in that pic, they have mirrored the odd line of the tank in the paintwork on the side covers)
    3 - get a new tank/shop the existing tank.

Bit rough around the edges, but it's passable as a decent edit I think.

It's more than passable!! Thanks for your help! I love it. It's a little less extreme than I'm used to but I really like it.

I'm doubting about the front as well. I like the classic café racer look, but one of the unique things about the XJ750 Seca is the Atari and the double square headlights.... Lot's here hate them but to be honest... I love them....

And reading the different forums, I think I won't go for the pods.....

Any suggestions on the colours ?
For the engine I was think about a dark grey (titanium) with a polished head.
    Frame, probably black.
    Wheels, gold or better original?
Heat wrap on the exhaust, titanium colour, with black megaphones...... Or maybe SuperTrapp megaphone..... 4 in 2 or 4 in 1????
