So. One of the things Max has been doing is blowing oil out of the final drive breather. I did the obligatory Search but want to make sure I understand correctly:

I'm blowing hypo out of the final because I'm a crazy commuter and ride about 12 mi/day at temperatures hovering around 30deg. F...

I'll do some more comparisons between my sub 40 mornings and 60+ home-rides to see how much it leaks afterward, but have I got the gist of it?

Have you checked the oil level in the final drive? It's technically impossible to overfill, but one should never underestimate the powers of a PO.

Actually, it was LOW at the tuneup (the tech was using my Service Manual for reference) and had been leaking for a while... I'd been noticing drips where I park (remember the "seeping" post?)

I'll check it tomorrow afternoon when it's on Center on a concrete pad...

Last night after my ride home, no leak.
This morning after my 35deg ride to work, drippy mess.

That's so weird. Anything I should do about it other than keep topping it off when low?

Sounds like it's just temperature differential burping then. I would not keep refilling. Keep an eye on it. Wipe the final drive off at the end of each day and once it stops burping oil you can use a length of insulated wire as a dipstick to see how low the gear oil gets. At that point you can determine if you need to top it off, or just let be once the level stabilizes. You may end up with an oil level that works for you in cold weather, and another that works in hot weather. The final drive does not need to be topped off in order to keep the gears lubricated.
