If I get a shim kit with 7.48 mm shims will it work with my X? I need 18 for now and may have to swap out some a second time so a kit makes sense... if they fit.

    Thanks in advance

You are much better off buying (or trading for) the shims that you actually need, even when you need so many at once. In a kit you will end up having 1/2 to 3/4 of the box go unused if you only have the one motorcycle.

I agree. Take your measurements and get what you need. I went down to my local Yamaha shop and they were able to get them for me. Post the sizes you need, someone may have them laying around. They are spendy little things though.
