    Sorry - can't comment on the STP stuff.

    However, I can strongly support using of SeaFoam! That stuff is liquid mechanic-in-a-can! 8O

    I can't comment on that product but this is the one I use and it is getting great reviews and everyone I know uses it.

    i used it in my f.i. bmw, didn't do anything i could tell
    seafoam didn't either
    but it didn't hurt anything

    I will give you update after treatment in few days...

    Only observation so far is that idle speed is somewhat increased (100-200rpm).

    When I bought my 82 Maxim 650 it had a real dead spot at about 1500 RPMs. I treated a couple of tanks with Seafoam and it cleared up.

    Seafoam contains a cleaning agent and a fuel stabilizer. Great stuff to put in for winter storage.

    For cleaning, one that gets frequent mention on car related groups is the Chevron Techron stuff. A lot of car dealers use it as a first-shot fuel system cleaner. I've had good results in a 10 year old car.

    As a stabilizer I use the Yamaha Marine fuel conditioner in my fishing boat as it's compatible with 2 stroke outboards, oil-injection, etc. I drain the tank for winter storage and burn the leftover next spring in the XJ Seca and haven't had any problems. The boat gets BP/Amoco non-reformulated premium with no-ethanol(bad for lakes), and the Seca just loves it even after 9 months.

    I have also used Techron with great results in the past on fuel injected vehicles

    i tried the sea foam trick in my 83, didn't work. i have had good luck with it in the past though. i went to carquest, and bought a bottle of the 3m fuel injector cleaner, around $10. this stuff seems to have done the trick, as the bike fires right away now. very satisfied, and glad i don't have to pull the carbs!
