    Greetings all,

    Just bought a 82 xj750 Maxim from my brother for $900 :D
Perfect running order, Has foward foot controls (brother bought that way), all ferings removed with after market MPH/Odometer and round headlight, and custom lowered handle bars (custom made by my brother from some chrome bike handles), small bullet type front/rear signals.
Stage 3 carb kit with indi highflow chrome top cone air filters
Only thing really "needs" is a new oil plug.. kinda leaks a lil..
and maybe a new front tire soon, probably go ahead and get new matched front and rears.. not a fan of the particular dunlop's it's got now.

I plan on having my brother re-spray it (fenders and tank) with a flat black base with a thin coat of blue pearl, then topped with a extra clear :D

Anyone tell me if there are after market rims you can get/use for this thing?

Thanks , hope to learn about about this bike here!

Welcome aboard. The Maxim is a great bike. Mine has 45K miles but the original owner took care of it and rode it consistantly so its in good shape.

If you maintain these bikes and ride them (don't let them sit!) they will go forever.

Looks road worthy to me, get to riding! A little oil leak can get big in a hurry, I'd find it and get it fixed as soon as practical. I'm not aware of anyone that makes aftermarket rims for these types of bikes but with the advent of the CNC machines that are now common, it would not be too hard to find someone to make up a set for you. It's just going to cost a small fortune for the aluminum! Welcome to the fold!
