    Hi guys,
I'm new to the forum as of yesterday. Thank you for all of the great information and advice on here - truly a vast network of knowledge.
A "customized" Seca 750 ended up in my garage for some help. I have read all of the threads I could find concerning electrical troubleshooting, but I could not solve my issue:

The bike will not start. Most of the original harness is present and in decent shape. The motor will turn over, but no spark. I have power to the IC Ignitor and coils. The safety switches for the clutch and kickstand are missing. I need to make this bike run without them.

    My questions:

    1) Should I have 12v to both leads of the coil? I understand the orange and grey leads are for signal to the coil, but should they show 12v when not firing?

    2) What size fuse should be in the inline fuse holder coming from the main switch?

    3) How do I determine model year without factory VIN tag?

@slackards wiring diagram may be of some help for you. I'd also pick up one of the Haynes manuals. Main fuse on my bike is a 30 amp, I believe, but the manual will tell you. If no one else replies I'll look at my manual and tell you tonight after work.

How do you not have a vin tag? Does that mean you don't have a title? The VIN should be stamped into the frame.

The bike is not mine. I'm just trying to get it running/functional for the owner. The frame was powder coated during the "customizing" process and the factory tag on the head tube was removed. I could not find a stamped VIN on the frame anywhere.

The fuse I'm talking about is just below the connector to the keyed ignition switch.

That is an excellent wiring diagram, thank you duel007. Does it also apply to the 750 Seca?
This model does have the YICS so that should help identify the year.

The neutral switch appears to be intact. It will turn over in neutral, but not when in gear.

that leaves the clutch switch and sidestand switch.
this wire digram is for a 550 but if you hover over the safety switches it tells you how to bypass
and there is a sidestand relay which ties into other safety switches as well.and a diode block to be checked

There is probably a lot of similarities there but I would go with the link bensalf posted since it has one listed specifically for the 750.

    Update on wiring issue:
The coil connector was plugged into the headlight relay and the headlight connector was plugged into the ignitor!
I switched them back, but still no spark. The motor will turn over. There is power to the coils on the red/white stripe wire. No power on the grey, orange signal wires now.
Is it possible that there is damage to the ignitor from being plugged into the headlight connector?

...on right coil I have 12v to both the red and grey leads. I should only have 12v to the red lead, right?

I posted the frank johansson dig so he could see how to bypass his safety switches to test them.
if he has a multimeter he can also test the function with that by using the continuity test

... still no spark. I ordered a functional IC Ignitior from ebay to help troubleshoot. I am suspicious of the unit that's on the bike now. It shows 12v at the coil on the orange wire, but not the grey. It has power to the unit while cranking, but no spark on either coil. I know they should be the same if it's functioning properly.
