I have an 82 xj650 and noticed that my left perch, where the mirror would go (I bought the bike without stock mirrors) is slightly slanted inward. Does the mirror stem compensate for this? The mirror should obviously stick out just past my left shoulder, but with that slightly angled mirror hole, it looks like the mirror would be more straight up than our left. I cant think of how else to explain it. Does this make sense? I'll try to take a picture later

So with the buckhorn bars or whatever stupid name those silly things got the mirror hole on perch had to be angled "inward" in order for the mirror to be straight up when the perch was on the bars. If you put this perch on a straight bar the mirror stem would be at an angle inwards sufficient enough to stick the mirror right up your nose. :)

The actual mirror stem is straight until a left angle before connecting to the the back of the mirror on the right side. This puts the right side edge of the mirror offset with the stem by about and inch and a half.

Yes it does. Check out the photos. It's in very good condition. Some surface rust on the inside at the bottom but besides that the puppy's tip top.
