Has anyone else experienced a problem removing the rear engine mounting bolt on an xj550 , mine will not budge. After looking in the manual the only reason i can see is that the bolt is rusted into its sleeve between the two rubber mountings? For the time being i have left it soaking in WD40.
I have the same problem with the swing arm bolt, it wont budge at all. Any suggestions would be gratefully received. The bike had been standing quite a while before i got it so i guess this may have something to do with it.
    Regards

I have had a similer prob with my 650 but it was a front bolt.

Took out the back ones first then the right hand front but the left one would not budge. As you did I soaked in WD40 then realised that the engine had droped sligtly on removal of the first three bolts.

Trolly jack under the engine took the weight, kept the nut on and chaped through as far as can before removing nut then good pull and bolt came out.

Odds are Kenbo's on the right track. Their might be some sort of presure on the bolt that you can't see.
