Hi everyone, Im Dave from Wirral in the UK. Proud (almost!) owner of an 81 xj550 seca. Its lead a very hard life and the previous owner attacked it with a grinder and made a complee balls of it, so Ive been redoing the welding and carrying on the project.
Should hopefully have it done for the end of June!

Aww yeah, this is how it starts.. get a bike from a friend... or someone... to help them get rid of a problem or pad their pockets... and the bike is thrashed.. slowly.. through much cursing, bruised knuckles, sweating, and sometimes bleeding... you end up with something.. only you can love. It will be the best bike ever, because it's yours! keep on it man, you'll love it.

Thats how it sits at the moment. Still got to re-do everything around the headstock and weld in the upright then it can go back together!

Yeah man that's a bit rough up there.. nothing and hours worth of grinding wont cure though! Well if it's like that on the other side probably 2-3 hours to get it all smoothed out.. something that may help is toss a couple wood blocks under the frame or put the center stand on and strap those forks to that bench. That way it'll keep everything square in case those welds were supposed to hold something together.
