I drive 25% of my travels on dirt and poor quality black top. Is there a tire that holds up well when the tires are apt to spin 'hop' over the wash board roads. I live in the contry and nead a tire that has agesive tread for dirt but still take the heat of faster runs. Any sujestions based on expeariacees some thing with deep tread to shead water but not block tread that would make road travel exausting. 130 90 16 back 100 90 19 up front. Right now have chargers on it but they worn out back a lot smoother than I feel comfortable with.

p.s. spell ck is down sorry

Don't know much about your question myself. I used to live on a dirt road but was only a quarter mile so didn't make any difference. The question made me think of the BMW gs bikes though, which led to this:

    Seems relevant.

You want a tire that does not quite exist. Even the best DS tires are going to be a compromise. You will be giving up some pavement grip to gain traction on the gravel, and durability. I happen to like the Kenda 761 (not sure if it comes in the sizes you need though), but there are better choices if you have more money to spend than I do. Head over to ADV Rider.com. There are a lot more (like 10,000 more) dual sport riders there who can give you recommendations. I'd ask in the Equipment section, or in the Converted to Dual Sport thread.
