    Hey, folks!

I had an xj650 a few years ago and loved the bike until I sold it.
    Yesterday I bought a 1984 XJ750 with about 24,000 miles on it for $500.

Bike rides but needs some work of course. Now, as I was looking for basic parts (throttle cable, carb kits, etc) I noticed that most sellers list Yamaha XJ750 1981 - 1983... and don't mention the 1984 model. So is the '84 same as 81-83? Same parts?

Here is a pic of that bike.

    Thanks!

Most sellers are only listing U.S. models. In the U.S. there was a tariff on any imported motorcycles over 700cc for about a year, which is why you need to be looking for parts for an air-cooled XJ700. PM user Chacal. He has everything (and knows almost everything). A lot of the 81-83 750 parts are the same, but there may be some that are not.

Thank you, K-moe. This is a Canadian bike and it is in fact an air-cooled XJ750.

Yes, I know, but failed to spell that out. Canada gets all of the good things.

As a person living in Canada I would disagree :p
We usually get less models of everything and at a premium price :(

You got the RZ(RD)350 for many many years after it could no longer be sold in the U.S. Canada wins.

Haha, usually people argue why their country is better but we're talking about how our country is worse lol ;)

Anyway, gotta research the forum to figure out what is that bike I have and what parts to buy for it.

The 1984 XJ750 Maxim (Canada only) is the same (eye-dentical!) to a 1983 XJ750 Maxim.

If I can sneak it past the wife, I'd love either RZ350 or 500, or both. Unfortunately, she thinks I shouldn't have sport bikes, and my back agrees. That's why I've got a Seca. They're cruisers, right?;)
