I bought some aftermarket turn signals for my xj750, anyone have any ideas on mounting them? I cant find a lot of options for buying mounting brackets for my forks (which i believe are 36mm). They all seem to be bigger than that. If anyone has any ideas please let me know

Maybe you could modify your factory brackets to fit the turn signals.

The factory brackets mount to the forks via the lower clamp pinch bolts. You can make a bracket to fit your new signals to the same bolts.

ok so basically replace one of the 2 pinch bolts with the new signals? But that would mean the signal threads will have to be the same size as those factory pinch bolts correct? which i would assume is unlikely, we'll see.

and I know ill have to cut off the old signal mounts because they have a little shaft thing that sticks off an inch or 2 with a rubber boot that slips over

oh @k-moe i misunderstood you, I know exactly what you mean. They dont have to thread into those bolt holes, the bracket gets screwed in with those pinch bolts and ill have a new hole for my lights above or below that, if i got you correctly. ill make something up. Ive already made a ton of brackets for this bike for aftermarket lights, gauges, etc.. so it should be cake now
    Good Idea thanks

Exactly. You pull the pinch bolts to remove the Yamaha bracket, and use them to mount your new DYI bracket.
