I recently bought an 82 maxim 750. Everything works fine other than a sound that worries me. It is almost a knock in one of the cylinders. As rpms increase, the knock increase rps as well. Going to pull the plugs today to see if they are bad and is just a mis fire. Wanted to post to see if anyone had suggestions. Thanks guys

    Check your valve clearances.
A properly tuned bike will have a clippity clappity kind of noise to it but not a knock . . . Unless you valve clearances are out of spec, or something worse.

Engines can knock for a variety of reasons low ie.( low octane gas, piston slap, crank bearings worn and out of round) and each has it's own sound. Try posting a video with audio, maybe someone can help you from there. Cheers

Have you checked for exhaust leaks?
