I'm sure there is already a thread about this that I could get some good information from, and I have not searched very hard for it, but I have a few specific questions about how to go about re-jetting.

I have a mac 4 into 1 with a megaphone muffler and stock airbox.

    My choices:

    Dynojet kit approx. $100

    6sigma kit approx. $80

112 main jets from jets r us $20

tape over part of air intake, full choke all the time, homemade needle shims, mixture screw at richest setting $0

    Which is the best option?

    Thanks in advance

    Colin

Did almost the same bike 2 weeks ago on a seca 650.
Stock jets 112 went to 116 main
Had a UNI foam air filter. Mac 4/1 And it ran great , pulled hard to 9000
So plus 2 sizes seemed to work well

When I had an XJ650 I added a 4-1 Mac exhaust and pod filters.
I used Dyno Jet and went with biggest jets that were in the kit, I also drilled a whole and did everything else as suggested in the dynojet kit instructions.
I had access to YICS tool so I synched the carbs and the bike ran like a champ ;)

Thanks guys, I think I'm going to just buy some 116 jets and see how that goes.

I guess I was mostly just wondering if the dynojet kit with adjustable needles was worth the extra $80.

Anyway we'll see how it goes!

Keep us updated. I'm looking to do the same with my 750 with screamin eagle pipes and pod filters.

Is there any number on the stock jets? The reason I ask is the bike came with a used 4 into 1 (No Name on exhaust ). The stock exhaust is on the bike I just want to know if it's been jetted before. PO was of no help when I asked. I'm tempted to put them on and see how it runs.Thanks.

Yes, the stock jets (but not all aftermarket jets) do have the size inscribed onto the top of the head of the jet, i.e. 110 (= 1.10mm diameter), 112 (= 1.12mm diameter), etc.
