I know this is barely a mod but I thought you guys would know -- will mirrors from an '83 Maxim a) mount and b) be positioned in a reasonable place, on a '85 Maxim-X?

    Thanks in advance.

They will fit,but you'll end up with square mirrors on a bike that everything else is rounded. They'll look goofy, in my own not-so-humble opinion.

I did the swap, turns out the arms are exactly identical. Yes they are square but that increases the area of the mirror at the most critical part where I want more visibility, whereas the stock teardrop shape minimizes that area. I'm ok with the change and the look of it.

Especially since one of the mirrors that it came with vibrated like heck.
