I was wondering if the idle adjustment screw should be backed out all the way or not. I have looked at bench synch instructions but still not sure. That`s why I ask this question. Thanks in advance for answer.

it does not matter. the sync is to equalize the opening gap of the butterflys.
if you have the butterflys open with the idle screw you are still looking to equalize the gap.
you will have to set the idle when you get the bike running which may or may not be the point you have it set to bench sync. it would probaly be best to use idle screw to adjust to the point where your "tool" fits under the first butterfly that allows tool under, then adjust the rest to match. this would ensure minimal turning of the remaining screws to equalize.

Are you bench synching? Use the idle knob to gently bite a strip of index card or a paper clip @ #3. Use the adjustment screws and strips to set the rest to #3.

Well written, Gary!! I've read a few "how to" threads about the bench synch, and it never really got through my thick skull till I read the "gently bite" part. Then I got sidetracked by gentle bites...
