My wife and I just got back from a nice overnight ride. 485 mi. round trip from Youngstown to Dayton to visit with an old friend we'd never met!

We rode out Tuesday afternoon for dinner and coffee with the intent of heading home late in the evening but decided to stay the night and make a leisurely ride home today.

This was my wife's first extended ride(longer than a couple hours) and she did great. The Maxim ran like a champ as usual. I do think I'll have a more comfortable touring saddle made before our next long ride, but it wasn't bad at all until the very end.

Her she sits at a rest stop near Bucyrus, OH

There is a women in Ashville NC that fixes foam and recovers motorcycle seats that did mine. Since I am an hour and half from her I stopped and told her how I wanted it. She took the step up slant out, curved that part so my butt was an inch back more, flatted the crown and added memory foam. Did a very nice cover for it. It is very comfy and well worth it!

Hopefully Saddlemen makes a touring seat for the Maxim. I have one of theirs for my Suziki GS859L bagger and it's a very comfortable seat.

They probably do. I know that Corbin does, and Russel will if you send them a seat pan to work with.

I thought I hit the lottery on ebay a bit ago. There's a Corbin double bucket touring saddle for $89.00 listed for an 82 Maxim. On close look, its for a Maxim 650 and the seat pan is completely different than the 750.

The Saddlemen website doesn't list the XJ series at all but I see some seats from them on Amazon and ebay that are speced for the 550 and 650 Maxims.
