I don't think anyone has, but I can tell you that making it work will require cutting and welding.

alright, Ya I thought that may be the case.. This is my first build so my knowledge is minimal. Would it be terrible to cut out the two supports surrounding the backbone and extend the backbone towards the seat. Replacing the two supports with just one below the backbone with a new gusset?

Jordan, Not sure of how to but I am in the process of getting an XJ also with the intent of making it into a Bobber and this will also b my first build. If I find anything I will let you know and if you can in return, it will be much appreciated.

How bendy do you like your frame to be?
Yes it can be done, but I would advise against it unless you have experience modifying a motorcycle frame in that critical area.
It is preferable to modify the tank.
