XJ550 won't start hot?

I finished my carb work last night and wen't for a quick burn. Bike ran perfect. Noticed when i got home that the bike was having a little trouble starting. This morning i rode it to work ans again it ran fine. When i parked it i tried to fire it up and now it won't start at all. Anybody have an idea what might be wrong with it?

 

I would start by checking the coils for teh proper resistance and maybe it's time to chage to new sparkplugs.

 

Just changed the plugs last night. I also switched out my carb boots and re-installed my ignition (long story). Can't think of anything i did last night that would have caused the problem but you never know. As soon as the bike cool's down it fires right up.

 

Might also be low fuel levels in the float bowls. Did you set them using the clear tube method?

 

You need to look at those plugs REAL CLOSELY.

You might be WAY TOO LEAN ... causing an overheat and losing some compression.

If the Plugs are as Clean as new ... look around the tip for signs of tiny fractures.
If you got 'em ... you're WAY Too lean!

Oh, sure ... the bike runs GREAT that way ... and will until you do some Major Damage.

A more Rich mixture is going to burn Cooler.
That might be the problem.
Your better off checking it, than letting it go thinking everything A-OK.

 

The plugs do look new because i just changed them last night. The old ones were burnt black from running to rich i think but not sure. How do i tell if it is too lean?

 

The plugs would be too clean.
