Are the carbs interchangeable between a XJ650 or a XJ1100 or XJ550 with an XJ700N?

Are they the same size and are the jets the same?

I am going to buy a spare set of carbs for parts but dont want to throw away any money on the wrong stuff.

    Thanks you guys.

All four bikes would have different jets both, air and fuel. The XJ550 would have Mikuni carbs and the jets may not fit the other sets. The Mikuni's are 28mm venturis so they wouldn't fit the carb intakes either.
The 650 and 700 would both use Hitachi HSC33 carbs. Jets would be different but interchangable. Don't know much about the XJ1100.

If you have a set that will Bolt-up ... and came off a matching displacement bike ... My guess is they'd be Good-to-go.

There's nothing wrong with Hitachi Carbs.
I have NO idea why they don't have the reputation for being able to be as finely tuned as Mikuni.

Mikuni's don't have all the Right Angles in their Air and Fuel Passages.
That might have something to do with Pilot Adjustments.

Just Clean the Carbs until they're perfect.
Refinish and Polish the Diaphragm Bores.
Tune them babies up 'til they can't be tuned-up no more.

    Ride, ride, ride!

The only reason I had considered buying a parts set is it seems that P.O. had chewed up the jets on my carbs with a screwdriver that wasnt the right size and I had hoped to get the right jets as spares to switch out the buggered ones.

    OH Well!

    Thanks all!!

Any one with a spare set of Hitatchi 700 cc jets?
