HI All, I took back my tank yesterday, and found a cherry new 650 seca tank. went on flawlessly!! but one problem... no key to gas cap!! so tried to put in a screwdriver and pop lock. no luck. I resorted to drilling, but stopped last night before I went too far... what is the easiest way to get these caps open?

Drill out the lock cylinder the. Use a screwdriver to turn the latch. If your previous attempt with a screwdriver didn't mangle the lock, a locksmith can open it.

P.S. If you lose your key(s), or obtain a used gas tank that still has a (locked) cap on it but with no key, then it may be time for you to learn the ancient art of lock-picking:

Or a real locksmith can pick it for you.
