So I just bought my first bike. I have found out it needs a new Starter Solenoid and it is missing the adapter to attach the Tac cable into the engine. I have been googling for 5 days straight and all I kept finding was aftermarket (non-OEM) general parts. Could you guys point me in the right direction for parts? As I said this is my first bike and the local bike shop wants my first born child to find and replace the previously mentioned parts. Also happy to have found this forum from what it looks like I will be reading through other threads for a couple days looking into how to fix my new bike.

Look up. Now look right. See that link to XJ4ever.com? Your search just ended.
It's run by member Chacal. Start a conversation with him. He'll set you right, and he only wants your second born child.

Which is handy, because you use up all the good genes on the first one anyway.

Yes just tell chacal which parts of these are you missing?
Quite often its #5 that gets stuck on old tach cable and gets tossed

    I think I am missing 4 (o-ring?) & 5 (adapter?) on that diagram. I will contact him.

It's a small seal, if it was missing you'd have oil leaking out.

Ok I replaced the solenoid, cleaned some spark plugs ( could not get the center ones out), and had it started for about a minute before the battery died. It seems like their is no charge left, what should I do before purchasing a new one? How do I test the battery? Sorry for being the bike newbie if this info is posted on the site please link it for me.

    Thanks,

    Clyde

Any autoparts store can charge and load test the battery to see if you need a replacement.

I got it running, had a friend loan me his battery charger and I replaced the spark plugs. I found out that the turn signals aren't working so that is my next task....
