while perusing Craiglist saw a good deal, couldnt resist. bought it off a mechanic.. carbs are overflowing he said he didnt have the float valves on hand when he was cleaning the carbs so i ordered a pair to see if that negates the problem. Other than that its a fun little bike!

Cool, I've owned a bunch of KZ and Z bikes, always fun to have a smaller cc bike to zip around on.

The KZ Twin (particularly in your case the 440) equivalent to XJ Bikes is http://kz400.createforumhosting.com/ but it looks like it is currently down - check later. I also have an '81 KZ440 LTD; would have rather gotten a KZ440G but the LTDs are a dime-a-dozen and I got it initially for my wife.

Looks like the other site is still down. Maybe permanently? If so, that's way too bad; just sold a KZ440B seat to a guy from Germany through the site. This older site (http://www.kz400.com/) has some KZ440 maintenance info but the Clymer manual should provide the same guidance.
