I'm heading off to the Paris Rally/swap meet next weekend with a few spare coins in my pocket and an empty pickup truck...

I can't help it, it's a law of physics: "a truck box must be filled"...er, was that something about a "vacuum"...

It has been confirmed that two Viragos are coming my way this fall. I had to ask the wife first.
She reminded me that the garage had no more space for motorcycles :(
Then she though I should get a bigger shed built :)
    She might be a keeper.

Nice! Definite "Keeper" K-Moe. You'll have to share some pictures of those Viragos when you get them.

Keeper: A wife that suggests you build a new shed so you can have room for more motorcycles.

It's not the "one" part that's the problem, it's the "ish". If I had a runner to go with Project Someday, all would be good.

    Aaah! Now I understand "ish".

Next time I see a good deal around Cornwall, I'll post it (if I haven't scurried off to snag it first :))

I picked up two XJs (one for $250, one for $200) and a '65 Honda S65 ($500) in Montreal this past year.

You can buy them in Quebec in good shape if they have lost the paperwork. Quebec makes it tough to register a bike without a registration, but it's (fairly) easy in Ontario.

    Just a tip I thought I'd share.

Just bought a new house, wife is preggers, got a four year old, need a new car... many priorities before Daddy's fun. Oh well, I'll live through you and Dave's collections. Thanks for the support!

Ummm.....hate to break it to you, but your garage is clean and has plenty of room. I have workbenches and storage racks running down both sides and most of the back wall. I can barely squeeze two bikes in next to the Miata

Yeah, I kept looking for the mess too. Nothing piled in the corners, you can see the floor, room for a car and four bikes... That's pretty good. Only way I could squeeze a Miata in mine would be on its side! But the Seca is safe and dry in there!

He also has a hot rod powered by a WW2 deisel tank engine! And one of those 800 thousand dollar Porches. And, and, and... I'm not jealous of that guy at ALL!

This may be good! Let's invite Jay to join our group and entice him to host a clinic :).

We could all hang out with Jay while his staff of fabricators and mechanics make our bikes perfect in every way.

Jay wins (he makes new friends), we win :)

Busy Bike Month, sold three, bought three. At least I'm keeping my numbers up.

Just got back from Montreal again, this time with an '85 Virago VX 1000 an 800 km round trip (about 500 miles), but well worth it.

$400 I didn't play with the price, he also gave me a few spares, a helmet and some megaphones for the exhaust.

It has been sitting inside a garage for several years, so the regular maintenance, clean carbs, tank, check brakes, cables, steering column bearings, the usual. I'm looking forward to getting this one up and running.

    Here's a pic or two

At this point I think the thread should change title to "there is no such thing as too many bikes". That has been established by now and confirmed with scientific data collected by members like hogfiddles (data and parts keep piling up in his shed).

Is there such thing as too many motorbikes?
yes, if you need to move two bikes to go the the bathroom, you have too many bikes. or too small of a house

Speaking of scooters and mopeds, these two are on Kijiji presently... soooo hard to resist. I'd love to show up on the Thursday night drive=in at the Canadian Tire in Campbellford, and ride over to the Harley section on one of these...too funny! I'd have to get one of those german helmets with the spike on top and a leather vest to pull it off though...

$300 for the pair...soooo hard to resist.

Here's the link and a pic

    Nope. The more the merrier.

Here's my story. This pic was taken in Summer 03. I'm in the middle on the 75 Z1.

Fast forward to 2014, I managed to obtain the Kaw and the Yam. The Kaw died in 2011 and was left on side of garage, so it didn't fair well cosmetically but its my DD and I don't feel bad about getting caught in the rain. The XJ was parked in running condition and covered so it survived well except for the gas that sat in it for 5 years. It grew on me and was complete so its in the middle of a full resto. I still remember the VIN on the Z1 but will probably never find it.

Here's the 750 now. I may fix her up once the XJ is done, shes in need of many things but still a strong runner:

The Z when I sold her (Thought I was cool with the pods, young and stupid):

Wife's Rebel, she starting riding last year. I've found she is more tolerant of the hobby now that she partakes:

With 3 kids and demanding job, the collection will grow slow but the kids all show interest and enjoy riding with me. I figure start them young with a responsible rider and make some memories.

Next I would like a NGW GL1100 and a new Heritage Softail Classic is on the bucket list.

I had 5 roadworthy bikes just after the college days prior to getting married and having kids. In the photo taken in 1993 from left to right:

    1970 Honda SL100
    1972 Honda CB500K4
    1982 Kawasaki GPz550
    1983 Yamaha XJ750K
    1982 Kawasaki GPz750

I still have the Maxim and ride as often as possible. The wife let me buy a 1984 Honda GL1200A Goldwing in late 2013 and she has a 2010 Honda SH150i scooter so there are 3 in the garage.

Couldn't resist, had to pick up two more bikes this week...I'm looking for an '80 or '81 YZ 250 and all these other nifty dirt/trail bikes keep popping up in front of me.

I'll post pics a bit later.

I was getting low, down to only 11 bikes at the beginning of the week

Still looking for that elusive 80 or 81 YZ250...

Found this nice 78 DT 175 to match my other one. Bought it from the original owner. I love that.

New tires, new chain, new battery and still had both original mirrors and blinkers. $300.

Also picked up an IT125, it was a basket case adorned with rattle can grey primer

I have it stripped down already.

Fixed up the 1980 IT 125 I bought a couple of weeks ago. Runs nice now, except I'll have to go in for some surgery to fix the gears. It's ride-able.

Here's a picture or two of how it looks now (removed rattle can paint with a nifty trick...stay tuned and I'll reveal this method).

Oh, we need a before picture first: (gray bluish spayed all over the place, note there is no motor in the picture...this was in several milk containers and boxes...(this picture is in the seller's garage. mine is much messier).

    picsss.JPG

    And now:

    First page main photo maybe.jpg

Fun little bike for $100 and another $100 or so in parts, but I'm still on the hunt for an '80 or '81 YZ 250

Okay, so Friday rolls along and I see a '79 YZ 125 (I was checking at 5:30 am)

for $300 I just had to buy it, had to!

    IMG_0146.JPG

    Now I have a matching pair - or if I add up the cc's I have my 250 :)

    IMG_0154.JPG
What's that you say? Two 125's does not a 250 make? Oh, okay, I'll keep hunting for that 80 or 81 YZ 250.
