83 Yamaha XJ 550 SECA First Bike Woes

    There are several possible results, depending on how much fuel has gotten into the crankcase, and if any is still in one of the cylinders.

    1. Bent connecting rod(s). This is bad.

    2. Engine starts and runs just fine, but bearing wear is accelerated due to the thinned oil allowing metal-to-metal contact. This is also bad. Running this way for a short time will not cause undue harm, but don't go riding anywhere (shut the engine down as soon as you find that there is gas in the crankcase).

    3. A giant, earth-shattering KABOOM! This is rare, but definitely the worst of possible outcomes.
