Hey guys. I'm looking at my battery tray area and see the negative connection and what looks to be a ground. I don't know where this ground is supposed to go. Can anyone help me out?

The ground from the battery goes to the engine case.

The thick black wire with the cap is not a ground wire it's the power from the solenoid to the starter.

Crankcase Vent? Somewhere I saw a small breather that can go on there.

Grind down two sides so you have something you can get a grip on, and replace the whole thing with a spin-on conversion kit from XJ4ever. And as you put things back together, apply anti-seize compound to all the things.

It's installed upside down. The letters should be up along with a tab that should recess between two fins.

Another candidate for the spin on adaptor. There is a how to video on how to install.

Another option is to cut a slot in the bolt, turning it into a flat head screw. The metal is pretty soft though, (as you have already learned) so it will strip pretty easily too.

    Yaay! Matti's 1000th post!
