I have an 85 maxim 700, and I have a couple of questions....

    1. What brake light bulb and headlight bulb does my bike use? Can the brake light be replaced with LED's for a noticable difference?

    2. Has anybody done a modification so there is a clock somewhere visable on the bike? I am always wondering if I am running late, but there is no clock....

    3. What do you guys/gals do for a radio? Bluetooth headphones? Wired? Anything else?

I have tried that, but it sounds just as bad as skinning a cat. Okay, skinning a cat sounds 100% better!

I have a TELUS p4000 PPC (Sprint Mogul) I use that has TomTom GPS - gives clock, speed, etc. Thinking about taking the instrament panel out all together, and have some sort of spider-legs mount to bring the PPC front and centre.

Has a 2gb card on, and I have a Motorola bluetooth wraparound headset that fits nice in my helmet.

Currently, I take the PPC in and out on a mount - the bluetooth GPS receiver fits under the seat in the tool tray, and the weatherproof GPS antenna snakes out to a place on the frame. The Bluetooth receiver has a battery life of about 2 weeks, so I only need to charge it once-in-a-while.

Best part is that it's my phone as well.

    New technology - old bike!

I have the AT&T 8525 (HTC Hermes) and was considering doing the same thing. Can you tell me which model number Motorola bluetooth headset you have? Can you also post a picture of the mount you have for the phone?

I use a mp3 player goes in my pocket. And I have helmet speakers fitted into my helmet(full face). There $20 on ebay. Not as loud as I want but I have straight through exhaust. Tip---Go get a cheap set of old style headphones take them apart, and put the speakers inside ur helmet in the ear pockets. Nice and loud and cheap. :) As for the clock I wear a watch!

I really really like this!!! They don't list the XJ in their list of handlebar sizes. I have an 82 XJ550. Does anyone have any idea what the handlebar size might be?

    THanks

As for the tail light - I got a couple LED bulbs that fit in the OEM socket at Advance-Auto - I think there is a noticabla difference. The lighting for the license isn't so bright since the LEDs are pointed back, however, there's enough light to show that there ias a plate there....
