    Ok

    Got the front wheel off the bike tonight with the intention of getting it powder coated with the frame. I realy dont fancy taking out the bearing when there is no real need to so am now considering painting it myself any advice fom someone who has done this aready? (consider I know nothing about spray can paint jobs)

    Also tonight I had a nice game of "Hunt the ball-bearings"
    I took off the handel bars and undone the nut retaining the forks in place. Now I know it says in the book support the forks BEFORE you remove this nut but I didn't. It is impossible to keep an eye on 19 ballbearings as they spread out all over the garage floor. I searched the floor and even swept it using a powerful magnet but still two managed to escape. So now I will be looking for a new bearing for the stearing head

    Dohhh...................... paint me yellow and feed me doughnuts

    Well ...

    You need 38-Ball Bearings.

    Go to a Bearing Supply Business. 38 One-quarter inch Ball Bearings are going to be dirt cheap. Maybe 5-Bucks or LESS! For all 38!

    Go to the Dealer and 38 Yamaha Ball Bearings (Exactly the same ones you get from the Supplier) are going to be .... {three times thirty eight carry the one plus ... Oooooh, man ... almost a hunrit in thirdie clams}

    Look at the money you saved ... already.
    Nice move.
    Smooth.
    Pass the donuts!

    Thanks Rick

    Never thought you could buy the ball bearings loose. I just assumed it would be a full unit.

    Well I have painted my rims they turned out great u can see more pics in one of my threads. First sand them very very very good, next clean them very very good so no fishey eyes, then tape off the area you don't want painted, next primer them good. Then paint ur desired color, let dry then clear coat. Let dry and remove paint bam custom look with about $15 invested. I used regular wal mart 99c cans. Good luck and have patience takes almost 2 hrs to properly tape off the rim.
