Just got the remains of what I think is a 1980 XJ650. VIN and motor serial number match and are 4H7 004264. Can someone confirm the model?

I think I will sell the parts - complete motor w/ carb boots but no carbs, exh pipes kinda rusty with mufflers in good shape, 55 K mi on the odo, tach, airbox, lt and rt switches, handlebars, triple & forks, rt side cover, rear fender w/ light, , fr wheel & brake, master cyl, swing arm, shocks, various electrics but wiring harness is fried. May also have the headlight which is kinda junky, and tank which is painted & kinda dented. I also may have the seat which is torn and the back rest and possibly a luggage rack.

No idea of the working conditon of any of this. Also the front wheel has straight spokes which doesn't seem to be stock for the bike.

Front wheel and brake rotor not from XJ650G though. It's a frankenbike.

I took a closer look. The whole front end is from a different model Yamaha - brake master cylinder, hoses, forks, wheel, caliper and rotor. Anybody want to guess which one?

Also the mufflers are from an 82 Suzuki GS850!

    The PO was pretty creative.

That front wheel looks a lot like the wheel on my '81 Seca 550.

Although the brake disc is on the other side of the wheel.

Thanks again guys. Turns out the front wheel is off an 83 Honda CX650C. What a mess.
