I have some hard saddle bags off my bike that appear to be from a complete package called the "touring package". It is a complete set and have found an interested party. The fella seems decent enough and is willing to trade and pass along very valuable advice. He is actually a member here. I am willing to make a very sweet deal, I just need a place to start. Any ideas?

Please add '82 XJ750j Maxim to your signature so members will know this is the model you have. Need a selling price for the saddlebags?...Easy peasy... half what they went for new, half that (depending on the condition i'd negotiate them on e-bay for one of these two amounts). Depending on what they went for new and the condition I'd negotiate with a member between 1/4 and 1/2 of that. Hope this helps.

Ask buyer to pay it. Half it with him/her or add it to the negotiations. Key note: It is very important that once the "hand shake" happens you adequately ship the saddlebags in the stated condition in a timely manner.

I have entered into a tentative agreement with hog fiddles. I want to thank you, members, for your advice.

Yeah. I have spoken to him and I think we will both come out happy. Parts are good but advice and knowledge are better. Looks like he restores these babies, so a full touring package should give him something to tinker with. I like some storage, but I like to have a more uncluttered ride. Other than a good windshield, I will get some nice canvas or nylon bags for the occasional longer ride.

    This is what's most important.

Stick around long enough and you'll come to know Dave has plenty to tinker with. This will just add to it.
