Digging around my shop I found with my Vetter rear luggage bags I found a luggage rack for an 1100. It is an aftermarket one and has a sliding sissy bar back rest. I will hold it up to my second 1100 and take a picture this weekend.
    Let me know

VERY interested in that photo as I also received a similar rack (sans sliding sissy bar back rest) in a bundle purchase and was TOLD it fit the 1100. I went to a neighbor's XJ1100 and it didn't fit so am most interested in the fitment/photos of yours.

It's not on a bike at the moment but I can set it on my 1100 so you can see.
I also have a Vetter faring and hard bags I'm selling. It came with a bike I bought

It's for an 1100 but its missing the forward braces that go to the shock mounts. Pretty easy to fab some up if you have access to a welder and some bar stock.

Some of my sharing on Luggage Rack...

One of the short coming to make this dream comes true is the difficulties to get an OEM luggage rack in the market. Even you are willing to pay for a US$170 (excluding shipping) for a used old luggage rack, the design of the OEM luggage rack in the 70 is really not suit with the style of the XJ650 Maxim. Here comes to our situation, I bought the rack from your company, the size is decent to be mounted at the rear of the bike, considered a bit mini in size from some of the people but I think it is a good size to me for packing an army type waterproofing bag for a bike trip of 2 to 3 days. The problem that I need to overcome:

    P1. Mounting position

    P2. Corrosion protection

    P3. Type of fixing bolts

After receiving of the product, I look at the bike again and discover that there are 2 bolts at the back of the bike (each side) which can be used for mounting of the extending mounting accessories. Two ¾” x 1/8” aluminum flat bars can be used to support the luggage rack by mounting them to that bolt after forming holes. The luggage rack itself (with 2 bolts holes on each side) is good enough to withstand the weight of the future loading of the luggage. However, the problem will be aluminum flat overturning effect upon loading. The solution of that is to bend the bottom of the aluminum flat to form a rigid restraint to prevent overturn of the whole thing upon loading.

Spending one hour in the local hardware store, I finally procure with the following materials:

M1, one piece 3 feet long, ¾”x1/8” aluminium flat

    M2, 4 each flat head M6 bolts

M3, 4 each M6 spring washers and lock nuts

Spending almost a whole Saturday afternoon in my garage using very ordinary home tools, I measure the exact length of the aluminium flat to the desired height of my wish using a cardboard jig (about 1” above the rear light cover), trial and error to the angle for the supporting flats. At last, the mounting flats are installed properly and leveled to what I want. The luggage rack is measured and tailored marked to make sure the mounting holes are aligned with the support flat bars. After drilling of the required holes onto the flat bars, the luggage rack is successfully mounted as shown on the photo.

I have rode my bike for about 100km after the installation and discovered the luggage rack is seated very solid at the back of the bike and proof no overturning sign on the luggage rack.

Quote: I bought the rack from your company
I have nver sold a luggage rack before on this site so I'm not sure where you think you bought one but it was not from me.

AS far ans the rack goes I only want $75.00 for it. It does fit the XJ1100 but I must have thrown the stupid front mounts away by mistake/
They slide into the front tubes and there are set screws that lock the forward tubes in place. They were just about straight with a Barrel tube on the front that
hooked up to the upper shock mounts or the Allen bolts that hold the Aluminum grab bar onto the frame. I can picture them in my mind but it would not be that hard to make up a few.
Anyone with access to a welder and time to run to a metal yard and buy some bar stock and tube stock could make these up in a few hours. Personaly I would make them out of Stainless Steel.
But I don't have the want or need for this rack. When I bought my 1982 XJ 650 I opted for this style rack for back support.
The rack is not rusty and the pad could be recovered but is in useable condition.

So if you want a rack for $75.00 and have some time to fab up a few parts its Yours.

    PM me if interested.

Sorry MN-Maxims, my mistake due to cut and paste of my sharing paper originally requested by the seller. To clarify, I bought this sissy bar back rack from a seller in ebay. Just want to share my experience to those Maxim owners whose want to put a new luggage rack on their bike. Nothing to offence you.
