The XJ900 was first known as the XJ900. Later models were named the Diversion. So it is just an early XJ900 that wasn't marketed under that name.

After the introduction of the XJ900 in late '82~'83 and the XJ900RK available in USA; the MotorCycle Press became less forgiving about some of the features and misgivings.

    Particularly, the Front End.

It didn't take too many "Road Test Reports" to find-out about the Early 900's instability above 112 mph.
The Front Fairing wasn't fastened well and caused a serious wobble when the aerodynamic unstable fairing starrted looking for an aerodynamically stable place in the slip stream.
    It would look left.
    Then, right.
And keep on looking because there wasn't one.

It being attached to the steering rather than the frame made the Factory rethink the Front End.

    The "Pre Diversion" Model ensued.

    Modified Front Fairing securely mounted.
    Belly Pan.
    Good-bye Anti-Dive units.

I wish that they had recalled the RK Model for making it stable.
    Mine is still showroom stock.

I'm good to go up to 115 with Hard Nylon Bushings replacing the Rubber Mounts that were the Factory's offfering.
But the Faring still hunts for an aerodynamic place to be.
So, that's my Top End now.
Protected from going any faster by a DYNA 300 Rev Limiter.

The Power band on a 900 is 3,000 to Red Line.
Once you get 3K Rev's happening ... the next stop is the end of the Tach ... and, it don't take long getting over there.

As a cruiser ... It loves 90 mph.
    In 5th @ 90mph ... there's enough Black left on the Tack to turn-around an 18-wheeler!!!

That's an FJ600. In most of the rest of the world, the Seca II that replaced it was called a Diversion 600. My 900 would do 135mph without a hint of instability.

Yes. Would agree to what MacMcMacmac wrote. It is not a XJ900. Look at the back light. Back light of a XJ900 is really different. IMO that is the easiest difference to find.

Concerning instability of a XJ900F I can say as long as you got enough profile on your tires and you choose tires like a bridgestone battlax and you have a good setup of the suspension system you don't have to worry about instability. My XJ900 is running even behind 210 km/h without any problems. Once I touched 225 km/h. But I'm not that kind of racer. So I don't know the limit.

How is the fairing mounted to the bike on the European Model 900, that differs from the ... two 10mm Bolted rubber bushings. on the Instrument Panel rack, and two other attachment points, which extend out from the front ends lower fork pinch brackets?

What MacMcMacmac says is right about it being a 600 it is priced at £700 (
    1,427.59 $US)

From the same place they have a 900 for sale

    whith a price tag of £900 (1,835.51 $US)

and they have this 900 priced at £1000 (2,039.75 $US)

How do those prices compare with what you are paying in the states?

That is definately an FJ600 in the first picture. Another way to tell other than the rear fender is the single shock rear end. I`ve never had a problem with the front end wandering on my Seca 900. I`ve had it up to an indicated 140 on several occasions.

Why can't we get Case Guards like the ones on the Purple 900 in the Photos here in the Land of Opportunity and Warriors Against Terrorism?

I'd love a set of those "Wraped-up safe" Case Guards.
