At 3:00am on 8-6-07, some low life, whos parents didn't love them or teach them right from wrong, tryed to steal my baby. They did a fair amount of damage but I managed to get the bike back. When they couldn't break the ignition lock (see pics) they decided to just kick it onto its right side and apperantly steal a plug wire. Guess they thought it wouldn't start so i could chase them down. Didn't work though, she started right up. Most everyhting I can deal with and will be making more mods to eliviate theft attempt but I am now in serious need of a handle bar and throttle assembly to fix my baby. They bent the bars pretty good (see pic). If any one can help I will purchase the 2 items immediately. This is my only transportation and I am in need of the parts as fast as possible. I do have a paypal account so I can get your money to you immediately.

Well a chain and a master lock always helps if it's left outside, or a kryptonite rotor lock is good.

Man I'd love to get my hands on the low life bag of s#!* that did that. Sucker needs an attitude adjustment I'd be happy to oblige. It would "make my day" so to speak.

I have a set of bars to my 85, not sure if they would work for you, but they were the originals....I liked the straighter bars, and switched.

I have a remote power button that kills all the power to the bike. As you can see, the damage was done but the bike stayed put. I would be highly interested in them bars ichevy f they were originals If you could shoot me a pic to see if they will work, you tell me what you got to have for them and I will get it to you asap. The bars are the worst damage. Right hand runs about an inch higher than the left. Best news of all is they didn't get the bike. I can always repair easier than replace. Thanks guys.

Have you thight about going with some aftermarket bars. I just picked one up for 75.00 or 80.00 bucks. Probably cheaper than shipping.

I work in a fairly high-crime neighborhood, so I can totally feel for you. I hope you find who did that...

Thanks on1wheel. I ordered a Daytona off the site you provided today. It was the closet thing they had that matched up. I appreciate it.

Sorry to hear about the damage. People are stupid. I will give this tidbit of info. If those kryptonite rotor locks use the same tumbler type as the kryptonite "u-lock" you'd find in a bike shop. Save your money. I watched guys at my local bike shop open a u-lock with a ball point pen and a hammer faster than I could open the same lock with the key.

Some kid tried to steal my grand amm one night I bolted out the back door snuck up behind him and at 10 feet away i nailed the punk with about 200 paintballs when i started to drop another pod he got up and ran.

cops found him at the hospital with hundreds of silverdollar sized bruses

He tried to tell them i did it as he was walking by my house.. ( I LIVE IN A DEAD END STREET WITH A FOREST BEHIND IT)

besides i called the cops before i nailed him LOL
