    Hi Chaps,

great weather here in germany. Mounted new rear shock absorbers on my XJ900F and took the chance for a 350km ride today from frankfurt to rhine and up to koblenz. Fantastic ride with fantastic shock absorbers (CDA Bitubo). Driving is completely different. Like surfing I guess.

I remember doing that drive, except in a vw van for the army at the time. We used to call that drive the land of forever beauty. Man I miss that place and the BEER.

Never been there but would love to go. Nice XJ too. So how did you come up with the Namibian Queen name?

Yes you're right. It is a beautiful place. But I guess you got much more beautiful places in the US.

How did I come up with Namibian Queen name? As I designed the painting I was thinking about how to get contrast to the the black color. After some tries in photoshop I choosed to yellow as the contrast color. But after I changed the color of the wheels in photoshop to yellow I recognized that this is not enough. I need to put something on the tank and maybe other parts too. Some day I was looking for Namibia for a holiday trip some time in the future in the web. And I stumbled over the small pic of the bowmans. And I simply thought thats it! So I rebuild the bowmans in illustrator because you need to have a vector based graphic and I got something for the tank. Same with the dancing girl. To be honest I had to rebuild her breasts to make them more beautiful. After that I had the small pics. I was thinking about to put the writing "YAMAHA" onto the spoiler like it was originally. But then YAMAHA did bother me in not giving me the required permission to put a 31A engine into a 4BB frame. So I was looking for something else. Some day I thought about Namibia and remenbered my dancing girl. And that's how I did happen. The Namibian Queen was born. On the internet I found the font I was looking for. Finally some work in photoshop again and all was done!

It works really well. I like the vectoring of the graphic which is usually necessary on bikes. Static graphics only work on buildings! I also like the idea of doing it with photoshop. Always restorable with a minimum of effort. Contrasting color is good too since it is a darker shade of yellow. Very nice!
