In that case fit any 7/8" bar that you like, and have cables and brake lines made to suit. Comfort is worth the cost.

Are the shocks in decent condition and adjusted according to your ride style?

E-bay > Search > 7/8" mini ape hanger handlebars. See any you like? Once you have the handlebars installed start a conversation with member Chacal (He's one of the gurus AND our parts expert/supplier). He will tell you how to measure for the new cable and brake length(s). He'll tell you what cables possibly from other bikes will work and make new brake lines for you. The master cylinder will need to be replaced (Seca 650) because the Maxim mc is angled for the buckhorn handlebars. Nice bike.

+1. I'm 6'0. Some of us have shaved the seat to allow for a better stance. The Japanese are typically shorter than other people.

leg room is a like a sport bike or adventure bike as apposed to it being a cruiser like my virago i think them doing mid controls for a cruiser was a bad idea but that's my opinion so im also thinking of getting some forward controls or finding a way to make some to make it feel more like a cruiser as for the mc I have found a few online and around me for less then 20 bucks also thinking of going to a local bike graveyard for the bars

Keep in mind that these were designed for persons of somewhat shorter stature. There are a few threads on here where people have converted the Maxim to forward controls.
