I was bleeding my seca 82 seca 550 using a bleeding pump. It's the punpm that you manually hand pump and the fluid drains into a cup attach to the pump. I noticed that when pumping while the bleeder screw was closed I was still extracting fluid from the caliber. Is this normal. I am trying to solve a mushy front brake and not having much luck. Any help would greatly be appreciated

Do you have original rubber brake lines on?

Replace them. No matter what they will be a ticking clock that's waiting to send you to the hospital. The original lines were scheduled to be replaced in 1986.

You may have a leaking bleed screw. Pull it all the way out and inspect the end of the screw and the seat of the caliper bleed hole.

Thanks for the information. If I replace the breaklines with a one piece steel breaded line do I route it up between the forks like the stock two piece line is

route it so it doesn't kink or rub anything too hard. Work the forks and watch it.
i got bleeder screws at NAPA, 7mm i think, take a old one with you
wrap it with teflon tape but keep the little hole clear.

With the bleeder scres closed, pump the brake and see if it leaks. If so, bad bleeder screw. If not, air in the system.

If it's air in the system try reverse bleeding. Basically, get a large syringe from Tractor Supply or perhaps a farm supply outlet, attach a piece of 1/4 in tubing, attach it to the bleeder screw and pump the fluid in forcing the air up and out of the M/C. Took me about 15 minutes after rebuilding the calipers, M/C, and replacing the brake lines.

the syringe you would be looking for are like these on Ebay.

Thanks for the advise. I was at the Yamaha dealer today and ordered the bleeder screw. I still not sure what Iam going to do about the lines. The guy at the shop wanted me to take the lines I have off the bike so he could measure them and have new lines made

Don't know what bike you have, but Chacal will have brake lines that specifically fit your bike, or you may be able to find them on Ebay. I don't think I would try to use generic brake lines.

Is the rear brake linkage and pedal including the stop light assembly located and properly adjusted? Something you might want to check out.
