1st and 2nd gear

    Morning all,

    My bike is the gift that keeps on giving at the moment!

    it's current "present" is that all of a sudden it won't go into first from neutral. When you try and select first it won't go in and feels like its bumping along. Currently I'm going up into second and then down into first (although today getting into second started to feel similar!). Once its in gear i can move up and down the gears.

    It goes into gear perfectly without the engine on and all other gears feel fine (at the moment!).

    Does anyone have any thoughts on what i'll need to do to repair?

    sounds like a spring is broken there are afew threads on this subject.
    what bike are you talking about, you should put that info in your signiture line in your profile so we know

    it could also be chain guide pieces from a broken guide
