Just made 2 pics showing four complete pilot screws in detail and a pilot outlet.

Consider that one screw is crappy. It has been replaced. Just want to show.

nice pics. How about I can only get the spring out of one of the pilot screw holes when I remove the screw. The other three won't come out no matter how hard I try. And forget about getting the washer and o-rings out. Did you have this trouble? If so how did you get it out?

Use a drywall screw. Turn it in a little being careful not to damage the seat or sides and the washer and oring will come out with it.

Hi, I didn't on a separate carb and I did on the one mounted. No probs. But if you look at the last pic you will notice a difference on the third screw. Apart from its damage it is absolutely clean. To provide this we tok the carb into an ultrasonic bath. After that the screws came out and did get a bath again. I remember seeing a thread here describing how to get out those kind of screws. Try this one:

I can try to get them out later today. Just hope the carbs don't have to come off the damn bike again. It runs well, so I'm a little concerned with fixing something that isn't broke, but I'll try the drywall screw technique. Good idea.

@Polock: The bad one is the third one. Would be difficult to adjust this one correctly with a screw driver because its head is damaged.

Got them out with the drywall screw method. The o-rings were all shrapnel except #4 which came out whole. #3 had a piece of the o-ring jammed in the pilot passage from the jets. I removed the bowl and the pilot jet and blasted with 60psi compressed air...that piece came flying out. So I repeated this for all 4 just in case. Now I need new o-rings. Oh, and there was no washer on #4 at all.

I have new orings for the Hitachi carbs. May be the same size so if you can, measure the oring I.D. and O.D. and I'll see if they match. The Hitachi orings are 1mm x 3mm.

well, the o-ring I have that didn't shred in there is about 3mm inside and 5mm overall. That is what it reads setting it on the ol' metric ruler. I'm not sure if it is stretched out or what, but that is what it is...Sooooo, 1mm x 3mm is a bit small. That is one teeny tiny o-ring Blue.

Hit up Chacal, he seems to be stocking carb parts these days. He's got o-rings and washers.
