Glad to have you aboard. XJs are great bikes and this is the forum to be on. There is an amazing amount of experience and helpful people on here so you you did two things right... (1) you bought an XJ and (2) you came here.

My XJ650 is my first "real" bike also (had moped-like thing when I was a kid) and I've ridden motorcycles in the past, mainly dirt bikes. But I think the XJs look alot sexier than the new crop of generic V-twins. Maybe I'm just showing my age ... hehe

You California people are crazy -- I was out there in the spring on tour with my band. The first time I saw someone split lanes at a stoplight I was like "What's that guy think he's doing?!?"

...then I realized it was totally legal and EVERYBODY does it, haha. Craziness.

After driving from San Juan Capistrano to LA two days in a row though... I realized I probably would too.

Hey, now. I'm not from here, ya know. ;)

Oh, yes... comes in very handy. Even if you're only doing 25 between lanes during rush hour, that's still 25 mph faster than everybody else is. MuaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.....

Next time you're out here, don't forget to stop by a Rubio's somewhere and have yourself a fish taco or three. Fish tacos are your friends.
