I hope y'all will take some time to think through 9/11. It was a difficult day for those of us called up to respond to it. I am NY Army National Guard and remember that day well. My wife and I had just finished a home inspections when the call to get ready came. It was a shock to my wife, but very rewarding for myself. Every year when September 11th comes I find myself reflecting back. This year, as my first year of riding, it seems even more close to me. I ask those of you who are willing, please pray for our nation.

I was in the South Dakota Army National Guard when it happened. I was at work when the first tower was hit. We were listening to the news and speculating on whether it was an accident or terrorism. Can't remember the sequence, but when the 2nd building was hit (Pentagon or 2nd Tower?), one of the ladies in the office told me, "It looks like we are being attacked, better get your boots out." Very sobering.

I was actually in basic down Ft. Benning way on that day. It was just before our trip into the gas chamber. We thought they were screwing with us.

I was driving to work, listening to Howard Stern (my tastes have evolved since then). I also thought I was being screwed with.
