Inside the front head light. I wanted to take the headlight off to clean and repaint. I took lots of pictures, to make sure it all goes back together OK.

But it's a factory installed rat's nest. It could be wayyyyyyyyy worse.
Everything is color-coded and all but the bullet connectors are unique. It takes some effort to hook everything up wrong.

Yup, shouldn't be an issue, there are, I think 3 bullet connectors, I'm wondering if they are all the same, or all go to ground. I'll label those, just in case.

They are for the turn signals, and the wires are all color matched.

Thanks, mine don't seem to be color matched:

You can see two green wires go to a black, the "Y" connection does go to two black wires, then the two brown wires go to a black/white wire.

Hmmm. That does not look right to me. The leads from the turn signals should be color coded wires, but they are obviously all black. I'd wrap the hot side of each one with masking tape, and label them as to which signal they go to. I'd also look under the electrical tape that's on the right (brown wire) turn signal hot lead.

all should be colour coded. What I have done previously on my XS750 I've disconected one by one component to see what has stopped working and label it.
Wiring diagram would help in that task too.

Yep, the two green wires are right side (front and rear) turn signal hot leads....you can see it comes off of the 6-space connector block that also has the medium brown wire coming off of it (that is the hot lead for the left side signals). The way it is wired, you'd blow the SIGNAL fuse in the fusebox every time you tried to use the right side signals.

Unless, of course, there's some aftermarket turnsignals on the bike (the aftermarket wire lead colors do not match the factory wire colors).

The black tape going to the dual-connector (with the two brown wires) is probably an indication of some PO nonsense going on.........

Thanks, the signals worked fine before I removed the light, so I assume someone has changed something. I've got everything marked well, so I can get it back to the way it was....or is.
