The tank that you have is the smallest one that will fit without having to make mounts.

I thought it was a piece of cake to do a tank swap but yes you will need to make mounts which in my opinion isn't hard. You have already have done the hard tailing so I would say go for it. Find a tank that you like, buy it, and make it work.

What does anyone recommend for a new gas tank off of what kind of bike? I would like to find a similar one but smaller, going to be going to local auto junk yard here and look after the snow melts a little

My son loves helping me out in the garage but sometimes he likes to grab little things that he shouldn't and somehow misplaces like nuts and bolts and I'm stuck looking for about a good day or two or for example when I disconnected some wiring and I had made these little sticker tabs for each wire had them labeled so I knew where it went to, he decided it would be a good idea to rip all of the labels off and throw them on the floor so now I'll know if something is messed up if i turn my left turn signal on to turn and my headlight or taillight starts blinking out of control lol

    NICE!

Have you thought about putting a MTB shock on the rear instead of just a standard springer seat?

    Hey man,

It's always going to look good if you're doing what you want to do.
Because it doesn't matter what anybody thinks that it looks like. It's an expression of your personal tastes, nobody can tell you what you think looks good. There's always going to be people who don't like what you like.
The internals, the workings of the engine, and how things work, however, is more what this site is for. People spend a lot of time learning and they want to help you build a bike that will ride for as long as it can, so you can learn and pass on your knowledge.

    That being said,
It's looking like a sweet bobber. I have the same bike, but you seem much more skilled than me. But I'll catch up some day.
