Just checking on the interchangability of 650 and 550 parts. Found a guy on craigslist who rebuilt several 550s a few years back and is clearing out the garage. He wants to get rid of the whole lot in one shot. I figure anything I can't use on my 650 I'll spread around the group.

    How much interchangability is there?

Interesting - I have a 550, which Im in the process of making run.
I happen to also be in the Milwaukee area.....

I do not have any experience to say much of the interchangability. but it is likely low. I've been told carbs are not. I know the (my) 550 is chain drive and it looks like the larger displacement bikes are shaft.

Things like guages and alternator and starter could be easily interchangable.

I am mainly looking for the external items, gauges, etc. so I'm not too worried about the engine and frame. The seller has a plethora of electrical bits and pieces which are what I'm most interested in. If I am able to get everything I'll post a list of extras if anyone is interested.
