ive got my 550 maxim carbs at Rick's being revitalized as i type this but being the 4th owner and having had the bike since 1991, it seems i missing the lower rack frame piece with the Idle Mixture Rod attachment...

it is a long, right angle piece, 8-holes, bracket in center for Idle Rod, Idle Rod and spring...

does ANYONE have a junked bike with complete carbs that has one of these still intact? i dont have any idea how the bike was tuned but it ran very well form 1991 until 1994 when i put it away. in 95 it ran pretty bad but i take the blame for that in my storage...

    HELP! anyone!

If all fails, you could find a small steel angle and drill 8 holes in it. That would result in a similar bracket. However, a bracket for the idle rod would have to be fabricated. A bolt with a spring and spacer could be used instead.

Try looking around ebay, I got a complete set of carbs for $28 a month ago.
